Laser hair removal rewards consistency: because hair grows in cycles, the schedule matters as much as the laser. Here is how Avelure Med Spa plans it.
How it works
Laser Hair Removal is one of the most popular non-surgical treatments for permanently reducing unwanted hair and achieving smooth skin without the daily hassle of shaving or waxing. At Avelure Med Spa, we utilize advanced laser technology to target hair follicles at the root, helping clients across Indiana, Missouri, and Michigan look and feel their most confident. By delivering precise light energy into the follicle, the treatment inhibits future hair growth while keeping the surrounding skin protected and refreshed.
Every treatment is tailored to your specific skin type, hair color, and body goals, ensuring results feel natural and balanced. Whether you are targeting small areas like the upper lip or larger areas like the legs or back, our providers customize each session to provide a safe and effective experience. This long-term solution is designed for those who want to simplify their grooming routine and enjoy lasting, silky-smooth skin.
How many sessions you need
Because hair grows in cycles, most clients require six to eight sessions to achieve optimal results. This ensures that the laser targets the hair during its active growth phase for the most effective reduction.
On permanence: Laser hair removal provides permanent hair reduction. While it significantly reduces the amount and thickness of hair, some clients may require an occasional maintenance session once or twice a year to maintain perfectly smooth skin.
Preparing for your appointment
You should shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. It is important to avoid waxing, plucking, or electrolysis for at least four weeks prior, as the laser needs the hair follicle to be present to work effectively.
What it feels like
- Sensation: Most clients describe the sensation as a quick “snap” or the feeling of a rubber band against the skin. Our advanced laser technology includes cooling features to ensure the process is very tolerable and comfortable.
- Downtime: There is little to no downtime after laser hair removal. You may experience slight redness or a sensation similar to a mild sunburn for a few hours, but you can typically return to your normal activities immediately after your session.
- Skin types: Yes, we use advanced lasers that are safe and effective for a wide range of skin tones. During your consultation, your provider will assess your skin and hair type to ensure the safest and most effective laser settings are used.
